Save Loch Raven Reservoir Watershed

Loch Raven Reservoir is one of two major destination locations for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and outdoor life in and around Baltimore City. There’s been a back-and-fourth going on for a couple months now regarding single track trail access at Loch Raven and it’s high time we put out a call-to-action for all mountain bikers. The situation is completely out of hand.

Ghost Bike From My Trip to Apex, NC

I went to see my boy Whitey down in Apex, North Carolina. The area is know as the “RDU” and it’s about 15 minutes or less from Raleigh, NC. It was a good trip. We hung out, got caught up, and even got some riding in. Scott picked up a Gary Fisher Roscoe a few months back. It’s a sweet all-mountain rig. I took my Chameleon down and we hit some single track.

We rode a non-sanctioned trail system called “286.” For a non-sactioned trail, this thing was extremly well maintained and we saw lots of other riders. I think the land was owned by an airport that just didn’t really want people on the land but sort of turned the other cheek to it.

A Formal Farewell to Avalon Cycles

Anyone that knew of Avalon Cycles misses the shop. I’ve read some posts on the MORE web site regarding the Elkridge, MD shop’s demise. Hell, my buddies and I still talk about this place quite often. But no one’s offered a formal farewell to one the coolest LBS’ to EVER grace the Baltimore area. Avalon, this is your farewell letter….

Victor, Gary, Donald, Phil, and Big John. You guys were (and still are) the shit. Thanks a million for putting your balls on the line to get us a shop that not only carried the coolest boutique frames…
